Classroom Technology Training Request

What Is It?

IT Classroom Support team offers Classroom Technology training to all faculty and staff on the first Friday of every month. This training session provides faculty and staff with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience regarding the new Classroom Multimedia features at UTRGV. The session will focus on enhancing participants' proficiency in utilizing audio-visual equipment in various instructional spaces on campus, including classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, and meeting locations.

Topics include:

  1. Adjusting Console Desk Height
  2. Turning On the System and Projector
  3. Overview of Control Panel
  4. Connecting a Laptop to the multimedia system
  5. Using the Document Camera
  6. Display Documents on the Computer Screen
  7. TV Monitor, Ceiling Microphones & Speakers
  8. Cameras for Zoom and Teams video conferencing and meetings
  9. Proper system shutdown procedures before leaving the classroom

This training session will empower faculty and staff to confidently utilize the Classroom Multimedia features, enhancing their instructional capabilities and ensuring a seamless audio-visual experience for themselves and their students.

Steps to Request

  1. Title: Provide a concise title that summarizes the nature of the request or issue.
  2. Email of Requestor: Include the email address of the person making the request. This ensures effective communication and follow-up.
  3. Contact #: Specify a phone number or other contact information for quick communication.
  4. Building Code: Indicate the building code or location where the issue or request is relevant. This helps direct the response appropriately.
  5. Room #: Mention the specific room or area affected. Precise details aid in addressing the issue promptly.
  6. Impact:
  7. Group: If fewer than 10 users are affected, consider it a group impact.
  8. Department: For impacts on 10-100 users, classify it as a departmental issue.
  9. Organization: If over 100 users or university-wide, treat it as an organizational concern.
  10. Equipment / Technology to Be Discussed: List the relevant equipment, devices, or technology involved in the request.
  11. Full Description of Request: Provide a detailed description of the request. Include any relevant context or specific requirements.
