What Is It?

UTRGV’s Office of Faculty and Research Support Services offers virtual servers to faculty and researchers for hosting research-related applications and services.

Note: Virtual servers are not for business or operational use. For such purposes, consult the UTRGV Project Management Office for guidance.

Steps to Request

1. Title: Virtual Machine Request
2. Email of Requestor: Provide your email address for communication regarding this virtual machine request.
3. Contact #: Share a phone number where you can be reached in case of any queries.
4. City: Specify the city where the virtual machine will be used.
5. Building Code: Provide the building code or location where the virtual machine will be hosted.
6. Purpose of Intended Use: Describe the research or project purpose for which the virtual machine is needed.
7. Server OS: Choose the desired server operating system: Windows Server 2022 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 Custom (specify details)
8. List of Users: Provide UTRGV email addresses of all users who will require access to the virtual machine.
9. Additional Comments: Include any additional information or specific requirements.
