Force Update of New Password on MAC Keychain
Force Update of New Password on MAC Keychain
After you have changed your domain password:
Upon bootup, log in to Mac with your
old
password.
(Should log in directly to your user profile).
Connect to
VPN
via
GlobalProtect
.
Open
Terminal
(at top-right, search for and launch Terminal).
Type “
login identifier
”
Example: login abc123
If you don't know your identifier, it will be in the terminal before $
Type your
new
password.
Log off the computer.
Log in to the computer with the
new
password.
At the pop-up, “
The system was unable to unlock your login keychain:”
Select
Update Keychain Password
.
Enter your
old
password.
Shutdown computer, do not restart.
Turn on the computer.
Upon bootup, enter
old
password. (
This time, it will NOT go directly your user profile).
Enter the
new
password on the login screen.
Restart the computer.
Login to FileVault Screen with your
new
password. (
Should go directly to your profile).
