This article explains how students and employees can upload or update their photo for the UTRGV ID (V OneCard), as well as how to obtain their ID card.
Students
Your UTRGV ID card photo is synced with your ASSIST profile image.
- If your ASSIST profile does not display a photo, or the photo is incorrect, you will need to contact Campus Card Services.
- For photo requirements and procedures, visit the Campus Card Services FAQ page and expand V OneCard Procedures > Students.
Students may visit Campus Card Services in person to obtain a physical ID card.
Employees
Eligibility and General Information
- Employee ID card eligibility information is available on the Campus Card Services FAQ page.
- Expand V OneCard Procedures > Faculty and Staff to review requirements.
- New employees may need to wait a few days after onboarding for the V OneCard app to appear in the my.utrgv.edu portal.
If the V OneCard application is not available:
Employees may visit Campus Card Services in person to obtain a physical ID card.
Uploading an Employee ID Photo
To upload your ID photo:
- Log in to the my.utrgv.edu portal
- Select V OneCard from the Applications section

- Confirm your email address and work phone number if prompted
- On the right-side menu, select Upload ID Photo

- Follow the prompts to select and upload your photo
Photo Review and ID Pickup
- Campus Card Services will review your submitted photo
- You will receive an email once your photo is approved
- After approval, your ID card will be available for pickup

Obtaining an ID Card in Person
If you choose to obtain your ID card in person:
- Bring a valid government-issued photo ID or passport
- Provide your UTRGV ID number
- Ensure your onboarding process is complete if you are a new employee
A photo will be taken during your visit, and your ID card will be printed onsite.
