This knowledge article provides instructions to clear your Teams app data cache which may fix issues such as:
- Error: We're sorry -- we've run into an issue
- Profile photo not syncing correctly
- Left and right arrow keys not working in chats
- Performance issues
Windows - Clear Teams App Data Cache
- Close Teams and Outlook apps. Right-click on each app in the Systems tray (bottom band of your screen) and select Close.
- Double-check that all Teams components are closed. Right-click on an empty area of your Systems tray (bottom band of your screen), and select Task Manager. Under the Apps category at top, locate and select any Microsoft Teams entries and select the End task button at the bottom-right.
- In the search field on your desktop (bottom left), paste this string: %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams and hit the Enter key. This opens File Explorer directly to the Teams app data folder.
- Delete all items (files and folders) in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams folder.
- Restart Microsoft Teams.
Mac - Clear Teams App Data Cache
- Quit Microsoft Teams
- From the Finder go to folder ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft and Delete the Teams folder
- Restart Microsoft Teams
