An iShop requisition is needed to request access to all areas managed by electronic access control. The requisition includes: requesting building and area access, setting schedules for common areas, updating scheduled access periods for areas already assigned access to, etc. The access request process is designed with workflows and approvals to grant access to areas. Note: Some specialized spaces require additional approvals and training.
- Log into the http://my.utrgv.edu portal.
- Under Applications, click on the PeopleSoft icon.
- Click on the Jaggaer iShop Sign In tile on the default Employee Self Service page,
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and under Other Forms Showcased Services, click Access Card and Key Request Form
- In the Instructions page, read instructions and click Next
- In the Suppliers page, click the Select button to the right of UTRGV Central Scheduling to select and then click the Next button
- In the Form Fields – Form Fields page
- Under the Selection Type section
- Select Access Card Request radio button
- Enter the campus location in the Service Location field
- Specify if the request will be in restricted lab space (this refers to Biology/Chemistry restricted/research labs and not computer labs)
- Under the Requested by Information section
- Enter contact information for the person submitting request, including name, phone number, e-mail, and department name
- Under the Employee Requesting Access Card/Key section
- Enter employee/student name and employee/student ID number for the person needing access
- Click Next
- In the Form Fields – Access Card Request Section page
- Enter building name and building UTRGV code
- Room number(s) access is needed to
- The access time frame or schedule such as Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm or Monday to Friday 24 hours or 7 Days/24 hours.
- Expiration date (usually applies to students only)
- If the request is for a large number of people, you can include the above information for all users on an Excel file which can be uploaded using the upload button at the bottom of the page. You will need to fill the fields above with information for one user so you can move to the next page.
- Click Next
- In the Review and Submit page, if no issues are identified next to Suppliers and Form Fields lines, press Add and go to Cart button.
Use the same instructions above to change the scheduled building electronic access (Unlock/Lock) times for specific buildings that do not follow normal business operating hours. Note: Please submit the request 72 hours before the required schedule change.

Non-Academic Buildings
The building electronic access schedules for non-academic buildings follow normal business operating hours.
Academic Buildings
The building electronic access control schedules for academic buildings are developed in consultation with the Registrar's Office and Students Affairs.
- The University Police Department will not accept any alterations to building schedules from individual professors/requesters.
- Any change requests need to be routed through Strategic Enrollment / Student Affairs.
Restricted Buildings and Areas
Building electronic access to restricted buildings and areas, such as research areas, may require additional approvals and training.
- Restricted space: Animal rooms (Vivarium), rooms with laser or x-ray equipment, or radiological, biological, or chemical agents.
- Training required before issuance of Key and Access Card.
