Introduction
JMP Student Edition is a free version for any qualified academic user who can be authenticated as a member of the university via SSO login. JMP Student Edition has all the functionality as the JMP Academic Suite that was previously used at the university. It has the advantage of the download process being hosted by JMP without requiring any fees or legal agreements with the university. In addition to the same functionality, this product allows for academic research and classroom use. The software can still be loaded on classroom and lab computers, as well as virtually deployed.
Create An Account
1. Visit the JMP website.
2. Click on “Get JMP for Free”
3. Review the “4 steps for installing JMP” > Click “Get Started at My JMP”.
4. Enter your "UTRGV Email". *If this is your first time using JMP you will be prompted to register.
5. A code will be sent to your utrgv email to verify the JMP account.
6. Once the code has been entered you will be prompted to accept terms of use.
7. Choose an "Affiliation" that corresponds to your role at UTRGV then fill out the rest of the form.
8. Click "Start" to verify your academic status.
9. Enter your UTRGV email address and select "University of Texas Rio Grande Valley".
10. You'll be routed to a UTRGV sign in page, enter your UTRGV email and Password.
11. Download the JMP Installer that corresponds to your OS. *Be advised if you selected Instructor at the beginning of registration your download will read JMP Instructor edition.
*UTRGV Windows Computers Only*
Right click on the JMP download from the "Downloads Folder" to "Run as Administrator" and proceed with installing the software without Admin Credentials needed.
