Introduction:
We are excited to announce that our office will be transitioning to a new Learning Management System (LMS), Brightspace, beginning in Summer 2025. To ensure a smooth transition, we’ve outlined the following process for organization leaders who need to request a new organization.
However, access to your Brightspace organization will be provided once the organization leader has completed a Brightspace training session provided by COLTT. If you have not completed the training, please review the upcoming dates for our Brightspace training sessions.
Organization Templates:
If you are establishing a new organization, we encourage you to review the organization templates below and select one that best aligns with your content requirements. Below is a list of available organization templates to assist you in creating an organization:
Blank Organization Template
The Blank Organization Template is a pre-set, empty course structure used to build out course content from scratch.

Professional Development Organization Template
The Professional Development Organization Template is a structured learning program designed to help individuals improve or acquire skills, knowledge, and competencies relevant to their career or professional growth.
Department/Club Organization Template
A Department/Club Organization Template provides a centralized online hub for managing, sharing, and organizing resources and activities for a department, club, or organization.
Units Organization Template
The Units Organization Template includes units providing a structured layout to organize course content by topics, making it easy for students to follow along and find resources.
New Brightspace Organization Request:
To submit a new Brightspace organization request, please follow the steps below:
- Fill out our New Brightspace Organization Request Form with the required information.
- Once your request is submitted and no further action is required, our office will process your request within five business days.
