Introduction:
SoftChalk enables educators within Brightspace by D2L communities to create their own engaging, interactive content, add it to their Brightspace courses and record detailed student score results for their SoftChalk content in the Brightspace gradebook.
This article describes how to add scored and un-scored SoftChalk lesson links into your BrightSpace course using the SoftChalk Link Selector app. It is assumed that you have already created your SoftChalk lesson and saved it into your SoftChalk Cloud account.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- 1. Navigate to a content area where you want to add a SoftChalk lesson.
- 2. Click on Add Existing.

- 3. Click on SoftChalk Cloud Link Selector.

- 4. Search for and select your SoftChalk lesson.
- 5. Select “LTI link” if this lesson has graded items; if not, you may select “Hyperlink”.
- 6. Click on Select.

- 7. The SoftChalk lesson link should be added to the end of the content menu. Click on the SoftChalk link.
- 8. Click on the three dots.
- 9. Select Edit Activity if you need to change the lesson settings, such as Grading.

- 10. Test your link by accessing the SoftChalk lesson.
- 11. Finally, double-check your graded lessons under Grades > Manage Grades to make sure your lesson is included in the calculations if this is desired.

Note: If this is the first time you are accessing the SoftChalk Link Selector from BrightSpace, you will be prompted to enter your SoftChalk Cloud username and password. After successfully entering this information, a secure connection is established between your BrightSpace and SoftChalk accounts. You will not need to sign in again.
