Transferring and Re-Embedding Panopto Videos in Your Brightspace Course

Introduction:

Enhance your Brightspace course with engaging video content by embedding videos directly into your modules or assignments. This will allow students to directly see the recordings without the use of a direct link.

This article guides instructors through the straightforward process of transferring and re-embedding Panopto recordings into their Brightspace course.

Instructions for Transferring Panopto Videos:

1. 1. Access Panopto https://utrgv.hosted.panopto.com
2. 2. Select Browse from the left-hand side menu.

4. 3. Search for the course that contains your videos and click on the course folder name. Ex. NURS-6304-90L-Fall2024
5. 
6. 4. Select the video(s) you would like to copy. Then, at the top of the page, click on the Copy button.

8. 6. In the Copy video(s) to search box. Enter the destination course. Ex. NURS-6304-90L-Fall2025
9. 
10. 7. Click the Copy button to complete the process.

12. 8. All selected videos should now appear in the Panopto folder for your Brightspace course.

Instructions for Embedding Panopto Videos:

1. 1. Click Content within your course.
2. 2. From the Content edit page, locate the appropriate module/unit for addition. Select the module/unit, and click on Create New.

4. 3. Then select the content type you'd like to add (ex. HTML Document, New Assignment, New Quiz, etc.). 

1. 4. From the Create section, select the Insert Stuff button.

3. 5. The Insert Stuff menu will appear as a pop-up window. Scroll down and select your Panopto tool.

5. 6. Using the interior scroll bar in the tool, scroll to locate the video you want to embed and select the radio button to the left of the video.
6. 7. Using the exterior scroll bar in the tool, scroll to the bottom and select the Insert button to embed the selected content.

8. 8. You can preview the video(s) selected, and then select Insert to insert them in your new content item.
