Brightspace Grading Schemes

This article pertains to users participating in the Brightspace Pilot program during the Spring 2025 semester.

Introduction:

In Brightspace's Grades tool, instructors can create grading schemes to define achievement levels for grade items or categories. Each level specifies a grade range and letter grades to represent performance. These schemes help clearly communicate expectations and results, and they are easily applied to individual grade items or course categories.

    • Assigned Value % defines the numeric grade you want learners to achieve when you evaluate them using this grading scheme
