Introduction:
Brightspace’s automatic zero grading feature works with different activity types, like assignments and quizzes. If a student misses the deadline, the system automatically assigns a zero, streamlining the grading process.

Assignment file submission |
- The activity submission due date is missed
- The special access due date for a user is missed
|
- Activity is hidden by either visibility rules or a release condition, when the due date passes
- An activity is exempted for a user, even if the user misses the due date

Assignment text submission |
- The activity submission due date is missed
- The special access due date for a user is missed
|
- Activity is hidden by either visibility rules or a release condition, when the due date passes
- An activity is exempted for a user, even if the user misses the due date
|
LTI activity |
- The LTI completion status is not complete or a score has not been received
- The LTI activity due date is missed
|
- An LTI activity is marked as complete or has already been graded before the due date
|
Asynchronous quiz |
- A user has not submitted any attempts
- A quiz is in progress but not submitted before the due date
|
- A quiz attempt is submitted before the due date
