Learn about your Brightspace organizational homepage navigation and how to find your courses in your organization.
Navigate your organizational homepage:
The Brightspace organizational homepage is designed to help make your job easier, more efficient, and give you greater reach when it comes to engaging your learners.

- The Home Button: Easily return to your Organizational Homepage from anywhere in Brightspace
- The Top Navbar: Access any course you are enrolled in or teaching, global notifications, and your profile settings. From your username on the top navbar, you can make changes to your user profile, receive Update alerts, manage Account Settings, and log out.
- The Navbar: Configurable by your administrative team, the Navbar is a list of tools surfaced on your page for convenient access to powerful Brightspace features.
- Widget-Based Homepage: Homepages can be customized with Brightspace Widgets. Widgets, such as Announcements, Quick Eval, Calendar, and access to any course you are enrolled in with the My Courses Widget, are powerful tools that augment and enrich the user experience.
Find your courses:
Easily find your courses after logging in to Brightspace from either the Course Selector or the My Courses widget.
Note: If you cannot find or see a course in Brightspace, contact our COLTT Help Desk for further assistance. If your course is showing as available but cannot be accessed or clicked, your course's Start Date as set by your instructor, has not begun and is preventing you from opening the course.
Find your courses through the Course Selector:
- 1. Click on the Course Selector (waffle) icon at the top of the page.
- 2. Select from the list of courses that you want to access.

Find your course through the My Courses widget:
- 1. Find the My Courses widget on your organizational homepage.
- 2. Find thumbnails of the courses that you are enrolled in and click on the one that you want to access.

Access and remove old courses from previous semesters:
Your ability to access an old course is determined by the following prerequisites:
- • You are enrolled in the course.
- • The course is set to Active.
- • The course has no date restrictions.
- • The current date is within the available date range of the course.

This means that while you may be able to see your previous and upcoming courses on the home page or from the course selector, you likely cannot access those courses. To request access to an old course, contact your instructor.
To remove old courses
Instructors should remove old courses from your view before a new semester starts. If you still see courses from previous semesters, you must contact your instructor for that course to remove it from your home page. Ask your instructor to de-activate the course. If your instructor isn't available, contact the COLTT Help Desk and explain the issue.
