DawnSignDigital for Students


Introduction:

DawnSignDigital is now available to use with Brightspace Learning Management. DawnSignDigital is an instructional tool offering a wide range of materials for teaching American Sign Language (ASL), Deaf culture, and interpreting. It enables instructors to integrate DawnSignPress content directly into a Brightspace course, allowing them to create assignments, share resources, and enhance the ASL learning experience within the LMS platform. 

Students can easily access DawnSignDigital materials directly through their Brightspace course! This step-by-step guide walks you through navigating your course, locating DawnSignDigital resources, and using them to enhance your learning experience. Get started quickly and make the most of these valuable ASL and Deaf culture tools!


Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. 1. Log into Brightspace. 
  2. 2. Go to the desired course.
  3. 3. Locate the assignment.
  4. 4. Click on the assignment name “Please enter your Signing Naturally 1-6 Access Code here”. Your instructor may have chosen a different name.

  6. 5. Once clicked, you will see a text box that will let you enter your access code. Input your access code and click submit after.

  8. 6. Once you click submit, you will see a green box saying, “Your changes have been saved successfully!”. You can then proceed to click the homework link and begin your assignment. 
  9. Your changes have been saved successfully!
  10. 7. After saving your access code, you will not need to enter it again. If you see a login screen asking for a password, stop and log out of your LMS. Log back in and select your ASL course to access assignments as usual.
