Creating Quiz Reports: Item Analysis


Introduction:

This step-by-step guide helps instructors create and run reports to evaluate question effectiveness, identify trends, and improve assessments. Follow these simple steps to analyze quiz data and enhance student learning outcomes.


Step-by-Step Instructions:

Creating Reports

  1. 1. Go to the Activities and select Quizzes.
  2. Activites >> Quizzes
  3. 2. From the list of quizzes select the pull-down menu to the right of the quiz you want to create a report for and select Setup Reports.
  4. Setup Reports
  5. 3. Click on the Add Report button.
  6. Add Report
  7. 4. Make the choices for all statistics you would like to have in your report.
  8. Reprt Name and Report Time
  9. 5. Make sure to choose the Instructor role for who the report will be released to so you can view the report once it is run.
  10. Release and Instructor Role
  11. 6. Click Save

Run Item Analysis

  1. 1. Go to Activities and select Quizzes. From the list of quizzes select the pull-down menu to the right of the quiz you want to run a report for and select View Reports.

  3. 2. Choose the Report you created from the list of reports you created.
  4. Select report you have created
  5. 3. Once you are in the View Report screen (see below) you can choose to set specific dates to run this analysis on and then either select the Generate CSV Report button to conduct analysis (i.e. export this to Excel, SPSS, SAS), Generate Excel, or simply select the Generate HTML Report button.
  6. Generate CVS / Excel / HTML
  7. 4. A notification will be sent into your Brightspace Bell Icon
  8. Export Finished
  9. 5. After selecting the notification, you will be directed to the page where you will be able to download and view the report.
  10. Click here to dowload the export file
  11. 6. Select Done to return
