Using the Zoom to Panopto Integration in Brightspace

Introduction:

An integration is available to easily import Zoom meeting recordings into Panopto. Once enabled, all Zoom meetings created via the Zoom integration in Brightspace will be automatically imported into your course’s Panopto folder. This allows you to make any edits to your recording and view video analytics.


Step-by-Step Instructions for Setting Up Zoom to Panopto integration:

  1. 1. Submit a Help Desk ticket requesting the “Zoom to Panopto” integration be enabled on your account.
  2. 2. Login to the Zoom Portal and enable the following recording settings:
  3. Cloud Recording:
    • Record active speaker with shared screen
    • Record active speaker, gallery view and shared screen separately
      • Active speaker
      • Shared screen
    • Record an audio-only file
    • Save chat messages from the meeting/webinar
  4. Advanced cloud recording settings:
    • Display participants’ names in the recording
    • Optimize the recording for third-party video editor
    • Audio transcript 
  5. 3. Add the Zoom Tool Link to each course where you want to use this integration.
  6. 4. Schedule a new meeting or import an existing meeting in each of these courses.
  7. 5. Launch your meeting and use the “Record to the Cloud” feature.
