How to move Panopto Videos to the assignment folder/personal folder

Introduction:

Panopto allows you to organize your videos into folders for courses, assignments, or personal storage. If you upload a video to the wrong folder (such as your personal folder), you can move it to the correct course or assignment folder so that your instructor can access it.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Access your Panopto site

  1. 1. Log in to Brightspace and open your course.
  2. 2. Navigate to the Panopto link in your course by going to Tools and Panopto.
  3. Tools >> Panopto
  4. 3. In the Brightspace Panopto menu, click on the boxed arrow button to open the full Panopto website.

    • Click on My Folder or the folder where your video is currently located.

To Move Videos

  1. 1. Locate the video you want to move. For multiple, you can select the white box.
  2. 2. Hover over the video, select the three dots, and click on Move.
  3. Three Dots >> Move
  4. 3. On the pop-up menu, type or find your course's assignments folder. Then click OK.
  5. Move <video title>
  6. 4. If the move was successful, a notification should appear at the bottom of the site:
  7. <video title> has been moved from "My Folder" to <course folder name>
  8. 5. Repeat steps if your video is located in a different folder.

To View the Video in the [assignments] Folder

  1. 1. Go back to your course tab and access Panopto the same way.
    • Through Tools → Panopto.
  2. 2. In your course's Panopto folder, select the sub-folder.

  4. 3. View your video in the [assignments] folder.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • • Don’t see the correct folder?
    • Ensure you are enrolled in the course. Only courses you’re enrolled in appear in the folder list.
    • If the assignment folder does not appear, contact your instructor—they may need to create or enable it.
  • • Accidentally moved to the wrong folder?
    • Repeat the steps above and move the video again.
  • • Video won’t move?
    • Refresh the page and check your permissions. If the option to move is grayed out, contact our office at ASK COLTT.
