Introduction:
The Brightspace Insights Portal offers a suite of dashboards and reports designed to help instructors monitor and improve student engagement, performance, and course effectiveness.
How to access the Insights Portal:
- 1. Log in to Brightspace.
- 2. Click on More > Insights Portal.
- 3. Select the report that you want to access.
- Engagement Dashboard
- Identifies at-risk and high-performing students.
- Tracks course access, time spent in content, and assignment progress.
- Helps instructors take timely action.
- Learner Engagement Dashboard
- Provides detailed metrics for individual learners across multiple courses.
- Includes assignment status, course history, and activity trends.
- Assessment Quality Dashboard
- Evaluates the effectiveness of quizzes and quiz questions.
- Useful for instructional designers and educators to improve assessment reliability.
Important: To view only student data in the dashboards, open any report, click on Settings, and under Role Filters, select the Student role. This ensures that only student-related information is displayed.
Tips:
- • Use the Engagement Dashboard to identify students who may be struggling or disengaged.
- • Use the Assessment Quality Dashboard to evaluate quiz and question performance.
- • The Learner Engagement Dashboard provides a detailed view of each student’s progress across courses.
- • Filter results by role and semester to reduce clutter and ensure you're analyzing the right data.
