Simple Syllabus
The University is transitioning to Simple Syllabus as the official system for creating, updating, and managing compliance of course syllabi.
This transition begins with the full Summer I 2026 term.
- Rollout Timeline
- Faculty teaching in Summer I 2026 will receive access to Simple Syllabus in the coming days.
- All faculty will gain access in later terms as the University completes the full transition by Fall 2026.
- Bright Space Integration
- Syllabus templates will be centrally managed in Simple Syllabus.
- Templates will automatically populate in Bright Space.
- For Faculty Teaching in Summer I 2026
- They will use Simple Syllabus through Bright Space to create course syllabi.
- They should no longer upload syllabi in Scheduled Teaching within Watermark Faculty Success moving forward.
- For Faculty Not Teaching in Summer I 2026
- No immediate action is required at this time.
- Access to Simple Syllabus and instructions for future terms will be shared in advance.
Support
- Virtual Office Hours will be available to help faculty through the Simple Syllabus transition.
- Sessions will be held every Wednesday in May.
- Time: 2:30–3:30 p.m.
- Faculty can join using the provided Zoom link they would receive from Faculty affairs email.
- We will provide basic support, such as how to edit or access the tool
