Degree Works is a degree evaluation tool accessed through ASSIST that tracks progress toward graduation. Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty, have access by default, while staff access requires approval.
Students: Access Degree Works
Navigate to Degree Works
- Log in to the my.utrgv.edu portal.
- Select ASSIST from the list of applications.
- From the ASSIST home screen, select Student Profile.
- Select Degree Works from the left navigation menu.
If the Student Profile tile is not visible:
- Select the menu icon (four squares) in the top‑left corner.
- Go to ASSIST → Student Services → Student Profile.
- Select Degree Works from the left navigation menu.
Need help?
If you can log in to ASSIST but cannot access Degree Works, contact U Central:
Faculty: Access Degree Works
From the ASSIST home page, select Advising Student Profile.

If the Advising Student Profile tile does not appear:
- Select the menu icon (four squares) in the top‑left corner.
- Go to Faculty and Advisors → Advising Student Profile.

Staff Access Requests
Staff who require access to Degree Works must submit a Get Access! Request.

- Description: Enter how Degree Works will be used.
Select Request to submit. The request will automatically route for approvals and be assigned to the appropriate group.
