Description
UTRGV provides access to CoPilot, an AI-powered assistant capable of generating text and images, aiding with research, among other tasks. The benefit of using CoPilot with UTRGV credentials is the Protected Mode feature, which guarantees a more secure and private interaction.
Purpose
If you plan to use generative AI to work with materials needing to meet data security standards, utilize Microsoft CoPilot. As mentioned above, it is protected and has gone through IT Governance.
Note: You should download CoPilot's response if you need to access it later.

Access
To access Copilot Chat, go to Microsoft Copilot.
To access the Copilot within your productivity tools, it requires a Microsoft Copilot license that has associated costs. These licenses are limited, however Faculty and Staff may submit an access request to get on the wait list. We're closely monitoring licenses so maximize usage and to re purpose unused licenses.
