Getting Started with H5P

Introduction:

This support article goes over the process to set up your account and create new content in H5P.

If you have never previously created an H5P activity in Brightspace, you will need to first access the activity creator from within Brightspace. Once you have attempted to build an H5P activity within Brightspace, H5P will recognize you and allow you to log into ut-rgv.h5p.com using your UTRGV email address.

Log into H5P (ut-rgv.h5p.com):

1. Go to https://ut-rgv.h5p.com
2. Sign in with your UTRGV email address.
3. When you log in for the first time, select Send me a password link. H5P.com will send you an email with a link to set your new password. This will be sent to your UTRGV email address. If you encounter issues, contact the COLTT Help Desk.
4. After setting up our password, you can start creating new content in H5P. We recommend creating a New Folder to structure your course content into folders.

Creating New Content in H5P (ut-rgv.h5p.com):

1. Select Add Content.
2. Choose the content type you would like to add, e.g., interactive video.
TIP: If you select the Details button (to the right of the content name) you will be taken to a page where you can read an explanation of the content type, see example screenshots, and view a content demo. To see a list of different content to choose from, visit H5P Content Types.
3. Build the H5P activity.
4. Go down to the bottom of the page and select the LTI settings tab in the side menu.
5. Under Choose when to send scores to the LMS, select one of the following options from the drop-down menu: First Attempt, Last Attempt, or Best Attempt.
6. Select Save.
7. Your content will now appear in the list under My Content.
