Introduction:
If you utilize Awards, you can now enhance student motivation by displaying earned badges and certificates directly on your course homepage using the Awards Leaderboard Widget in Brightspace.
What it Does:
The widget showcases students who have earned the most awards in your course. It can be configured (if allowed) to sort by:
- • Number of Awards
- • Credits Earned
Students will always see their own name and image. You may see anonymized names for others depending on system-wide privacy settings.
How to Add it:
To have the widget added to your course homepage, please Submit a Ticket with the following information:
- • Course Name and Number
- Example: ENGL-1302-01-Spring2016
- • Request to add the Awards Leaderboard Widget to the homepage
- May I request for the Awards Widget to be placed in my [Course].

How to customize the Awards Leaderboard widget:
Note: If your organization has overridden this customization option, the Sort by options are disabled in the widget and the following message appears: An organization-wide configuration variable has disabled these settings.
- 1. From your course homepage, navigate to the Awards Leaderboard widget.
- 2. On the Awards Leaderboard widget, click the Actions for Awards Leaderboard Widget drop-down menu. Click Customize this widget.
- 3. In the Sort by section, select one of the following:
