MATLAB - Install Software

UTRGV and Personal Computers

Matlab is available from the Mathworks site for Windows, MAC, and Linux operating systems (see the list of dropped platforms below).
Note that Matlab is also available from the Virtual Lab (vLab).

1. Go to https://www.mathworks.com/login
2. Towards the bottom of the page, click on "Create account."
3. Fill out the form on the next page.
4. On the following page, select the download button. (It has a down-facing arrow)
5. Next, choose your operating system. 
6. A save program window will populate. Select Save. 
7. In the lower-left corner of your browser, select the new box with MATLAB in it. 
8. Wait for the MathWorks Installer to open and choose Next.
9. Sign in with your UTRGV email address as the username and enter the password that you created for MathWorks.  Follow all prompts to complete the installation. 
   UTRGV computers:  Please contact the IT Service Desk for assistance in initiating the installation with admin rights.  The Matlab installation will not properly initiate with CyberArk.

Unsupported operating systems:

Dropped Platforms

• macOS Mojave (10.14): Support ends with R2021b.
• Ubuntu 16.04 LTS: Support ends with R2021b.

Upcoming Changes

• Windows 7: Support is scheduled to end as of R2022a.
