Zoom - Closed Captions and Live Transcription

Closed Captions and Live Transcription are enabled by default for most users. However, you can verify the settings using the steps below.

 

Verify Caption Settings

  1. Sign in to the UTRGV Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, select Settings.
  3. Select the Meeting tab.
  4. Scroll to In Meeting (Advanced).
  5. Locate Automated captions and confirm it is enabled.
    • If disabled, select the toggle to enable it.
    • If prompted, select Enable to confirm.
  6. Scroll down and verify Full transcript (Meeting Transcript) is enabled.
    • Note: This option is typically enabled by default and may be grayed out.

 

Turn on Captions During a Meeting

  1. Start or join a Zoom meeting as the host.
  2. In the meeting toolbar, select Show Captions or CC / Live Transcript.
  3. Select Enable Auto-Transcription.

Captions will begin displaying for participants once enabled.
