Closed Captions and Live Transcription are enabled by default for most users. However, you can verify the settings using the steps below.
Verify Caption Settings
- Sign in to the UTRGV Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, select Settings.
- Select the Meeting tab.
- Scroll to In Meeting (Advanced).
- Locate Automated captions and confirm it is enabled.
- If disabled, select the toggle to enable it.
- If prompted, select Enable to confirm.
- Scroll down and verify Full transcript (Meeting Transcript) is enabled.
- Note: This option is typically enabled by default and may be grayed out.
Turn on Captions During a Meeting
- Start or join a Zoom meeting as the host.
- In the meeting toolbar, select Show Captions or CC / Live Transcript.
- Select Enable Auto-Transcription.
Captions will begin displaying for participants once enabled.
