Submitting Bulletins to UTRGV Messenger

Video Overview

This article includes a brief video overview that demonstrates how to submit and copy bulletins in UTRGV Messenger.

 

Submit a Bulletin:

  1. Log in to UTRGV Messenger using your UTRGV credentials.
  2. Select the Create a Bulletin tab and complete all required fields.
  3. Select a category, then choose Show Preview to review the bulletin.
  4. When ready, select Submit.

 

Categories Available

All bulletins must be assigned a category. Categories help organize content and allow users to locate information of interest more easily. When posting to UTRGV Messenger, select the option that best fits your bulletin.

  • Events – University‑related events such as concerts, plays, athletics, performances, or exhibitions
  • Around Campus – Opportunities to participate in research, surveys, contests, or volunteer activities
  • Policies and Procedures – New or updated policies, processes, or procedures affecting the UTRGV community
  • Training and Workshops – Information about upcoming training sessions, workshops, or conferences
  • Safety and Health – Campus safety updates, health initiatives, and medical news or events
  • Newsletters – Division, college, or department newsletters shared with a broader audience

 

Copy and Submit a Previously Approved Bulletin

  1. Log in to UTRGV Messenger.
  2. Select My Bulletins.
  3. Search for the bulletin you want to copy.
  4. Select Copy.
  5. Update the bulletin details as needed (title, summary, dates, and location).
  6. Select the Category, Approver Group, Start Date, End Date, and Audience.
  7. Select Submit.

 

Copy an Approved Bulletin Created by Someone Else

  1. Go to the UTRGV Messenger login page.
  2. Search for the approved bulletin you want to copy.
  3. Open the bulletin and note the bulletin number shown at the end of the page address
    (example: a URL ending in /bulletin/189).
  4. Log in to UTRGV Messenger.
  5. Select My Bulletins.
    If you do not have any bulletins, create a new test bulletin and submit it.
  6. Select Copy on any bulletin that is in Approved or In Review status.
  7. In the browser address bar, replace the existing bulletin number with the bulletin number you noted earlier.
  8. Update the bulletin details as needed (title, summary, dates, and location).
  9. Select the Category, Approver Group, Start Date, End Date, and Audience.
  10. Select Submit.
