Zoom is a video conferencing platform used for hosting virtual meetings, classes, and collaboration sessions at UTRGV.

Meeting Capacity
Zoom meeting capacity depends on the account type:
- Basic (standard) account: Up to 100 participants per meeting
- Licensed account (Business): Up to 300 participants per meeting
All currently enrolled UTRGV students and currently employed faculty and staff already have access to a standard UTRGV Zoom account. To request a licensed Zoom account, please contact the IT Service Desk.
Note: Requests are limited to current UTRGV employees and students and must include a valid business or academic reason for the upgrade.
Large Events
For large-scale events with a high number of attendees, consider using a broadcast solution such as Microsoft Teams Live Events
