Web Browser – Clear Cache and Cookies

Clearing a web browser’s cache and cookies can help resolve issues such as login errors, pages not loading correctly, or outdated content appearing on screen.

Note: Clearing cache and cookies may sign you out of some websites.

 

Google Chrome (Windows and macOS)

Clear Cache and Cookies Using the Menu

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Select the More options menu (three dots) in the upper‑right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Privacy and security.
  5. Select Clear browsing data.
  6. Set Time range to All time.
  7. Check Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
  8. Select Clear data.
  9. Close all Chrome windows, then reopen the browser and try again.

Mozilla Firefox (Windows and macOS)

Clear Cache and Cookies Using the Menu

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox.
  2. Select the Menu button (three horizontal lines) in the upper‑right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Privacy & Security.
  5. Under Cookies and Site Data, select Clear Data.
  6. Check Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content.
  7. Select Clear.
  8. Close all Firefox windows, then reopen the browser and try again.

Microsoft Edge (Windows and macOS)

Clear Cache and Cookies Using the Menu

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Select Settings and more (three dots) in the upper‑right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Privacy, search, and services.
  5. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear.
  6. Set Time range to All time.
  7. Check Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
  8. Select Clear now.
  9. Close all Edge windows, then reopen the browser and try again.

Safari (macOS)

Clear Cache and Cookies Using the Menu

  1. Open Safari.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of the screen, select Safari.
  3. Select Settings (or Preferences, depending on your macOS version).
  4. Select the Privacy tab.
  5. Select Manage Website Data.
  6. Select Remove All, then confirm.
  7. Close Safari, reopen the browser, and try again.
