ASSIST - Troubleshooting, Access, and Training Resources

Multifactor Authentication (MFA) is required when accessing ASSIST from off campus.

Technical Issues

If you have difficulties with ASSIST, please follow these troubleshooting steps:

  • Access ASSIST through the https://my.utrgv.edu portal (under the list of applications). Do not use a browser bookmark.

  • Clear your browser cache.
  • If possible, use the Chrome browser.  Ensure your browser is up to date.
  • Try a different browser application.
  • If you receive the error - "Invalid username/password; Logon denied," try using an incognito/private browser.  From your browser's settings, select Private or Incognito.
  • If MyUTRGV is experiencing issues, try logging in directly at https://assist.utrgv.edu (do not create a bookmark).
  • If upon logging into ASSIST, you see a blank page, select the 4-square menu icon at the top left and navigate down to the desired option.

Faculty / Staff Access

If you require additional access, submit an Access Request and note the following:

Category:  Banner
Resource: Select the desired option. 
                  For example, "Banner Self Service Assist (provide SSID)"

Description:  Provide your SSID and justification.
