Access ASSIST Through the myUTRGV Portal

  • Sign in to the myUTRGV portal
  • Open ASSIST from the Applications list.

IMPORTANT: Do not create or use a browser bookmark for ASSIST.

 

Accessing ASSIST From Off Campus

When accessing ASSIST from off campus, you must approve a Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) prompt.
If you need help setting up or updating your authentication methods, contact IT Support.

 

Training and Tutorials

  • Students - Training resources are available for students who use ASSIST.
  • Faculty and StaffTraining resources are available for faculty and staff who use ASSIST.

If you can access ASSIST but need additional help within ASSIST, contact U Central.

 

Troubleshooting ASSIST Access Issues

If you are having difficulty accessing ASSIST, try the options below.

Clear Your Browser Cache

Use a Supported, Updated Browser

  • Use Google Chrome if possible
  • Ensure your browser is up to date
  • If the issue continues, try a different browser

Log in Directly if the myUTRGV Portal Is Unavailable 

  • If the myUTRGV portal is experiencing issues, sign in directly at assist.utrgv.edu.
     

Resolving a Blank Page After Login

If ASSIST loads but displays a blank page, open the main navigation menu and select the desired option.

Faculty and Staff Access

If you require additional access to ASSIST, submit an Access Request and include the following information:

  • Category:  Banner
  • Resource: Select the appropriate option. 
    • Example: Banner Self Service Assist (include SSID)
  • Description:
    • Provide your SSID
    • Include a brief justification for the access request
