GlobalProtect On Demand VPN for Apple iOS

Supported Operating Systems

The GlobalProtect On Demand VPN App will work on iOS 10.3 or later versions.


Download and Install the App

  1. Launch the App Store on your phone or iPad.
  2. Search for GlobalProtect and tap GET or the cloud icon.

Configure the App

  1. Open the app.

  1. You will be prompted to send notifications. Select Allow.

  1. Enter the portal address myvpn.utrgv.edu and select connect.

  1. You will be prompted to add VPN configurations. Select Allow.

  1. To add the VPN configuration, you must enter your device passcode.

  1. When prompted to sign in, enter your UTRGV email address as the username.

  1. Enter your UTRGV account password.

  1. After successfully entering your password, complete the Multifactor Authentication (MFA) verification.  GlobalProtect On Demand uses your default Multifactor Authentication (MFA) sign-in method.  Click here to update your authentication methods and default sign-in method.
  1. Next, a prompt will be displayed to connect. Tap the round icon to Connect.  (To connect or disconnect, tap the round icon.)

  1. Upon successful authentication, the GlobalProtect App will show the status of Connected. If you wish to disconnect, tap the round icon.

Additional Information

  • The connection will automatically disconnect after 10 hours.
  • Verify that you are connected to the Internet before using the GlobalProtect app.  You must be connected to a known and
    pre-established internet connection for On Demand VPN to work.
