ArcGIS Pro - Download, Install, and Authorize Esri Software

NOTE:  ArcGIS Pro, ArcGlobe, ArcMap, and ArcScene will only work on Windows based computers. For non-Windows computers the programs are available in Virtual Labs (vLabs).

In order to use the ArcGIS apps from off-campus, you must create a VPN Connection. 

 

1. Download the ArcGISPro executable file HERE.

2. Once the application has been downloaded, view it in your downloads folder on your computer. 

3. For UTRGV owned computers, visit this article to learn how to install software with administrative privileges: CyberArk Install Software.

4. Follow all prompts to accept agreements and complete the installation. 

5. Once the installation has been completed, click  Finish.

  1. If the following error message shown below is received please install the following Microsoft’s .NET Desktop Runtime depending on the ArcGIS Pro Installer Information pop up.
    1. .NET 6.0 Desktop Runtime Download
    2. .NET 8.0 Desktop Runtime Download
    3. Once completed, run the installer once more.

6. The ArcGIS Sign In Pop Up will launch. Enter in all lowercase “utrgv-main” then click “Continue”.

7. Then select “University of Texas Rio Grande Valley”.

8. Enter UTRGV credentials (email and password).

9. ArcGIS Pro will open ready to use.

 

 

For ArcGIS Pro Software Previously Licensed Using “Concurrent Use License” See Below:

1. The ArcGIS Administrator Wizard will launch.

2. Switch the “License Type” from "Concurrent Use License" to "Named User License".

3. Once at the ArcGIS Sign In pop up refer to Step 6 above to renew the license.
