Quizzes: Set Evaluation & Feedback Options

Introduction:

The Evaluation & Feedback section in Brightspace Quizzes allows instructors to control how quiz attempts are evaluated and what feedback students receive. By default, quizzes are auto-graded upon submission with minimal feedback.

This guide walks you through how to customize grading visibility, feedback content, and result display settings to align with your teaching goals, especially if your quiz includes multiple attempts or manually graded questions.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Quiz feedback isn’t showing to students:
    • Solution: Check that Auto-publish is enabled or that a Submission View is active and includes visible content.
  • Grades aren’t syncing to the Grade Book:
    • Solution: Ensure your quiz is linked to a grade item and Synchronize to Grade Book is checked.
  • Students can see correct answers too early:
    • Solution: Review the default submission view and consider using an Additional View with a delayed release.
  • Feedback looks different for each attempt:
    • Solution: If your quiz allows multiple attempts, make sure each submission view is customized appropriately.
