Introduction:
This article explains how to request a Learner (Student) account in Brightspace. Faculty members at UTRGV can request a Learner account in Brightspace to preview their courses from a true student perspective.
A Learner account in Brightspace provides faculty with a genuine student preview, making it ideal for testing assignments, quizzes, and reviewing the overall course layout.
Instructions to request a Learner account:
- 1. Submit a General Support Case.
- 2. Make sure you provide the courses you want to access as a student view.
- 3. Upon completion of the request, our COLTT Help Desk will provide access to the faculty member.
- 4. User credentials will be distributed to the faculty member.
- 5. At this point, faculty may access their courses as a Learner/Student view.
Why Request a Learner Account?
- • Experience the course exactly as students do.
- • Verify navigation, content visibility, and assessment settings.
- • Ensure a smooth learning experience for your students.
Important Notes:
- • Requests are limited to active UTRGV faculty only.
- • Allow up to 2 business days for processing.
- • Use the Learner account only for preview and testing purposes.
