Set Up a Pin/Passcode on a Mobile Device (Active Sync)

To set up a Pin/Passcode on a mobile device:

iPhone/iPad

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode or Face ID & Passcode.
  3. Select TurnPasscode On.
  4. Select Passcode Options.
  5. Select Custom Alphanumeric Code.
  6. Set a Passcode with five or more characters and confirm.

Android

  1. Press the Home button, then press the Menu button.
  2. Select Settings, then tap Lock Screen or Security.
  3. Select Screen Lock or Set Up Screen Lock to change your device's password settings.
    • NOTE: Exact wording will vary depending on Android device model.
  4. Select Pin/Passcode lock in the menu.
  5. Enter the password you want to use.
  6. Select the Check Mark to continue.
  7. Enter the password again to confirm.
  8. Select the Check Mark again to activate password lock.
