Outlook - Set up Email on an iPhone and iPad

First, check this article to ensure your device’s operating system and email app are supported for Multifactor Authentication.  See the section, “Which email applications are supported?”

Please be advised that active sync policies necessitate the application of a passcode to your iOS device. It is imperative to note that this passcode will need to be updated annually.

To set up your email on an iPhone and iPad:

  1. Verify your device's wireless data connection is active (open Safari web browser and enable to browse the Internet).
  2. Tap Settings > Mail > Accounts>Add Account.
  3. Tap Microsoft Exchange.
  4. Tap the Email box and enter your full email address (e.g. myusername@utrgv.edu),
  5. Optional: Tap the Description box and enter a short description for the email account you are setting up (i.e. "Work Email"). tap Next.

         NOTE: If the server is not automatically discovered, enter mail.office365.com.and tap Next again.]
     
  6. Tap Sign in on the pop up screen
  7. At the UTRGV Login screen ,if needed tap the Username box and enter your full email address again .
  8. Tap the Password box and enter your password and tap sign in, Approve Microsoft MFA if prompted. 
  9. Choose the type of information you want to synchronize. By default, MailCalendar, and Contacts are all turned On.
  10. Optional: Tap the Mail Days to Sync option to select from 3 days (default) to 1 Week, 2 Weeks, 1 Month, or No Limit of mail you want to display on your device.
  11. Tap Save on the upper right corner of the screen.
  12. Setup is complete. The email account is now accessible from the Mail application on the dashboard.
