Use vPrint: Mobility Print and Find-Me Printers

Instructions to set up Mobility Printing and release print jobs.  Locate the instructions for your device type below.

Computer Lab or Classroom Computer

  1. Sign in to the computer.
  2. Sign in to PaperCut using your UTRGV credentials.
  3. Click the file you want to print and select Find-Me Printer.
  4. Release Print Job from Find-Me Printer

Personal Mobile Device(s)

IOS

Setup (One Time Only) Video Training

Print from iOS Device

  1. Open the app you want to print from.
  2. To find the print option, tap the app’s share icon.
  3. Tap Print.
  4. Tap Select Printer and choose FindMePrinter
  5. When prompted enter UTRGV Username and Password.
  6. Choose the number of copies or other options, like which pages you want to print.
  7. Tap Print in the upper-right corner.
  8. Release Print Job from Find-Me Printer

NOTE: Check the app’s User Guide or Help section if you can't find the print option. Not all apps support AirPrint.


Android

Setup (One Time Only) Video Training

  1. Install the Mobility Print app from the Google Play Store. 
  2. Launch the app.
  3. Tap Android settings.
  4. Tap Mobility Print.
  5. Tap the enable toggle.
  6. Exit out of Settings.

Print from Android Device

  1. Go to an app of your choice.
  2. Select the Print option
  3. Select [Find-Me-Printer] in the drop-down menu.
  4. Click the Print icon.
  5. Enter your UTRGV Username and Password.
  6. Release Print Job from Find-Me Printer

Windows OS

Setup (One Time Only) Video Training

  1. Download and run the Mobility Print Installer (scroll down to the Setup section).
  2. On the License Agreement screen, click Next.
  3. Select a printer; then click Next.
  4. Enter your UTRGV Username and Password, then click Next.
  5. Click Finish.

NOTE: To add more printers, run the downloaded Windows Printer Setup again.

Print from Windows Device

  1. Go to an app of your choice.
  2. Print your document.
  3. Release Print Job from Find-Me Printer

MAC OS

Setup (One Time Only) Video Training

  1. Navigate to System Preferences > Printers and Scanners.
  2. Click the + icon under the Printers List.
  3. The Add dialog is displayed. This dialog displays a list of all of the discovered printers on the network.
  4. Select a printer. 
    NOTE: Name, Location, and Use are displayed.
  5. Check that Use is set to Secure AirPrint. 
    NOTE: If Secure AirPrint is not displayed: Close the Add dialog, disconnect from the network, reconnect to the network, and try again.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Select Print.
  8. Enter your UTRGV Username and Password.
  9. Repeat for any other required printers.

Print from Mac OS Device

  1. Go to an app of your choice.
  2. Print your document.
  3. Release Print Job from Find-Me Printer

Chrome OS

Setup (One Time Only) Video Training

  1. Install the Mobility Print Chrome app.
  2. Open the page to print.
  3. If printing is available, right-click, then select Print.
  4. Click Change to choose a printer.
  5. Select Mobility Print printer from the list.
    NOTE: Make sure you select a Mobility Print printer as identified by the PaperCut icon.
  1. When prompted enter your UTRGV Username and Password.

Print from Chrome OS Device

  1. Go to an app of your choice.
  2. Print your document.
  3. Release Print Job from Find-Me Printer

Release Print Job from Find-Me Printer

  1. Locate a Find-Me Printer on campus (Edinburg / Brownsville)
    NOTE: Click Explore Interactive Map for your campus, then click Information and Services and select Printing Labs.
  2. Use one of the three methods to release a pending print job:
  • Scan a printer's QR Code with your smartphone's QR reader app, Snapchat, or Camera on iOS 11 (Recommended).
    NOTE: Make sure that your applications have been updated to the latest version.
  • Swipe your UTRGV ID Card in the Card Reader (Konica Printers Only)
  • Log in to Konica Printer using PaperCut Client login page with your UTRGV email and password.
    NOTE: Most printers on campus print in black and white only, with the exception of Konica printers. All can print double-sided.
  1. Select the file.
  2. Press Release.

Credits

Print credits are assigned to all students each semester, as follows:

  • Fall semester: 500 print credits (250 initial and 250 after census date)
  • Spring semester: 500 print credits (250 initial and 250 after census date)
  • Summer semester: 250 print credits per session
  • Roll-over: Unused credits from the previous semester will roll over to the next semester. Unused credits are deleted at the end of the second summer session.

Cost 

Print credits will be debited from a student's PaperCut account as follows:

  • Black & white document, single-sided document: 1 print credit
  • Black & white document, double-sided document: 2 print credits 
  • Color, single-sided document: 2 print credits
  • Color, double-sided document: 4 print credits

Additional printing credits will not be awarded; however, you can transfer printing credits between users. Printing quotas and costs are subject to change each semester.
