Information
The International Travel Laptop Loan service lends laptops to employees traveling abroad to a high-risk country on official University business. Regular UTRGV laptops/computers must not be taken to high-risk countries. The maximum loan period is three months, unless otherwise approved.

Requesting a Laptop
Use the Request Service button to request a loaner laptop.
Enter the following:
Short Description: Requesting a laptop loan for international travel
Service Request Description
- High-risk country of destination
- Travel dates
Attachment: This completed and signed pdf form must be attached to the request.
Requests must be submitted at least four weeks prior to scheduled travel (can be submitted as early as four months prior). Requests are routed to Export Control for consultation and approval and then to IT.
Upon Return
Do not connect laptop to the UTRGV network. Return the laptop directly to IT.
