Software Assessment is a standardized assessment process of software purchases that, among other things, ensures: technical and security requirements are met, adequate resources are available, requirements are fully identified, redundancy of software on campus is avoided, and timelines set are the best for the University and not necessarily vendor-driven. This assessment also leads to more effective and efficient implementations.
All software installed on UTRGV computers, free and paid, must be assessed annually. UTRGV faculty and staff are required to submit the software assessment request form before the software is cleared for purchase/installation. For a list of recently assessed software, please review the Software Inventory found in the my.utrgv.edu portal. For more info on requirements for software purchases, please see IT and Data Governance or email pmo@utrgv.edu.

-
Click on “Mark Complete and Submit”.

- On the pop-up, click on “Mark Complete and Submit”

Assuming the request is approved, the request may no longer appear in this area. If the software request is converted to a project, it will then appear under the main "Projects/Workspaces" menu.
