What Is It?
UTRGV’s Software Inventory lists all software owned by the university, over 1,200 titles. Employees are encouraged to check this inventory prior to purchasing new software. The software inventory list is located on the top menu within the myUTRGV portal. If you need assistance contacting the listed owner to inquire about the software licenses, please submit a request for software license support.

Steps to Request
To complete the Software License Support Request Form you need the Software Title in the Software Inventory in my.utrgv.edu.
- Check Inventory: BEFORE purchasing software or installing any free applications on university devices and networks, all employees must review the UTRGV Software Inventory to:
- avoid duplicate purchases and
- confirm the last Software Assessment date was made within a one year period.
- Expedited Software Usability Review Process:
- A Software Assessment Request is not necessary if the software's usability remains the same and it has been evaluated within the past year.
- A Software Assessment Request is necessary if there has been a change in software usability or if a new user presents a different use case.
- License Inquiry:
- If you find the software title you need, contact the owner listed about license availability.
- If the owner doesn't have any licenses available, you'll need to purchase additional licenses with your departmental funds through iShop.
- Purchasing Licenses in iShop: Request software assessment approval from owner and attach it to the iShop requisition when purchasing software licenses.
- Install Approved Licensed Software: Use Cyberark to install authorized licensed software.
If the software title you want is not on the authorized list, you must request a Software Assessment.
All UTRGV employees must submit a Software Assessment Request for all software purchases BEFORE
- buying
- downloading and installing software (including freeware and free applications)
- renewing a software contract
- or if there are any differences as defined in the original software assessment for software already on the inventory list
Once you submit a software assessment request, please respond swiftly to regarding emails sent from notify@teamdynamixapp.com.
The software assessment process will ensure that the requested software and cloud products meets all security, accessibility, and TX-Ramp certification requirements for installation on all university-owned computing devices and university network environment.
