Zoom - Install and Get started


** UPDATE Zoom to the latest version ** (Minimum Required Version 5.11.4  as of May 6, 2023)

Check your Zoom version!

Zoom Information for Students

IMPORTANT:  Special Instructions to Sign in to Zoom (available for currently enrolled active students and currently employed faculty/staff)

  1. Open Zoom application. 
  2. Click Sign In.
  3. Click Sign In with SSO.
    • Enter or leave utrgv in the company domain field.
  4. Enter your UTRGV email and password.
  5. Click Launch Zoom if necessary.

 Join a meeting without installing the Zoom client

  1. Go to utrgv.zoom.us.
  2. Click Join.
  3. Enter the meeting ID.
  4. Download the Zoom browser plugin.
    • NOTE: The download does not require administrator privileges. 

Install Zoom and the Outlook Plugin

UTRGV Computers

  1. Windows: Search for and launch the Software Center app.
    MAC:  Search for and launch the Self Service app.
  2. Search for and click on Zoom Client and Outlook Plugin.
  3. Click Install.
  4. Follow all remaining prompts to complete the installation.

Personal Computers  

  1. Go to zoom.us/download.
  2. Click Download under Zoom Client for Meetings and Microsoft Plugin.
  3. Open the download files.
