Zoom – Access, Sign In, and Installation Guide

Zoom is Available to Currently Enrolled UTRGV Students and Currently Employed Faculty/Staff

Sign In to the Zoom Application (SSO)

  1. Open the Zoom application on your device.
  2. Select Sign In.
  3. Click Sign In with SSO.
  4. In the Company Domain field, enter utrgv.
    • (You may also leave the field pre‑filled if it already shows utrgv.)
  5. Enter your UTRGV email address and UTRGV password.
  6. If prompted, select Launch Zoom to complete the sign‑in process.

 

Join a Zoom Meeting Without Installing the Zoom Client

  1. Go to utrgv.zoom.us
  2. Select Join.
  3. Enter the Meeting ID, then select Join.
  4. When prompted, select Join from Browser.

 

Install Zoom and the Outlook Plugin

UTRGV‑Owned Computers

Windows

  1. Search for and open the Software Center or Company Portal application.
  2. Locate Zoom Workplace and Zoom Outlook Plugin.
  3. Select Install for each application.
  4. Follow the on‑screen prompts to complete the installation.

macOS

  1. Search for and open the Self Service application.
  2. Locate Zoom Workplace and Zoom Outlook Plugin.
  3. Select Install.
  4. Follow the on‑screen prompts to complete the installation.

 

Personal Computers

  1. Go to zoom.us/download
  2. Under Zoom Workplace, select Download.
  3. Scroll down to Other Download Options to download the Microsoft Outlook Plugin, if needed.
  4. Open the downloaded files and follow the installation prompts.

 

Licensed Zoom Accounts

All currently enrolled UTRGV students and currently employed faculty and staff already have access to a standard UTRGV Zoom account.

Licensed Zoom accounts include additional features such as:

  • Longer meeting duration
  • Increased participant capacity

To request a licensed Zoom account, please contact the IT Service Desk.

Note: Requests are limited to current UTRGV employees and students and must include a valid business or academic reason for the upgrade.

If you are experiencing issues with Zoom (for example, outages, sign‑in problems, or meeting errors), please check Zoom’s Status Page for current service updates.
