SPSS - Install for Faculty

UTRGV is licensed only for SPSS version 28. UTRGV is licensed only for SPSS version 28. THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO PERSONAL/TAKE HOME LICENSES FOR SPSS

Installation Restrictions 

IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS®):

• Can ONLY be used for University-related academic work or research
• CANNOT be used in hospitals or clinics
• CANNOT be used for University operational or administrative purposes (non-academic or non-educational)
   

To download and install on a University-owned computer on the University's network:

UTRGV Windows Computers - When off campus, connect via VPN.

1. Windows computer: Search for and open the Software Center app.
   MAC computer:  Search for and open the Self Service app.
2. Select IBM SPSS Statistics 28.* from the list of applications.
3. Click Run.
4. Click Download to begin the installation.
5. Click Run.

UTRGV Mac Computers - When off campus, connect via VPN.

1. Click the Launchpad icon.
2. Open Self Service.
3. Select SPSS from the list of applications.
4. Click Install to begin the installation.
