Virtual Private Network (VPN) Connection - UTRGV and Personal Computers

Current employees and students can use Global Protect to create a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection to the UTRGV network.  GlobalProtect operates in two modes:

• Always On - Automatically connects to the campus network.  Installed on university-owned Windows laptops by default (replaced DirectAccess). 
• On-Demand - The user must open the app and connect.  Provided for privately-owned devices and for university-owned non-Windows devices (replaced Forticlient).
   

Instructions by Mode

• GlobalProtect Always On for UTRGV-owned Windows computers 
• GlobalProtect Always On for UTRGV-owned Apple Computers
  
   
• GlobalProtect On Demand for Windows (personal computers, NOT for UTRGV-owned computers)
• GlobalProtect On Demand for macOS (personal computers, NOT for UTRGV-owned computers)
• GlobalProtect On Demand for Apple iOS
• GlobalProtect On Demand for Android Device or ChromeBook
• GlobalProtect On Demand for Linux
